Arata Mizunashi, a video game programmer, receives an email notification from Shina Ninomiya, a colleague of his who has been missing for almost a year. Together they worked to create World´s Odyssey (W.O.D.), an immersive virtual landscape powered by breathtaking modern technology. This continued until Sheena´s sudden disappearance brought production to a quick halt. Arata makes the startling discovery that Shina Ninomiya has been inside the “W.O.D.” all this time. As Arata hurriedly returns to the lines of code plaguing his abandoned project, he realizes that his game is now riddled with many bugs, and that Sheena is the only active player in it.
Arata soon learns that some sinister force is preventing him from taking Shina out of the game. Is there only one way out for her? She must complete the game to get the perfect ending - an outcome with a 1% chance of success. On their journey, they encounter a variety of NPC characters who blur the concepts of humanity and artificial technology, setting in motion a compelling narrative that questions the differences between the virtual world and ours.
They don´t even suspect what horrors await them on both sides of the screen...
