October Night Games is a digital board game for 1-6 players about the struggle of two groups of cultists for the right to decide the fate of our world on Halloween night. The game takes place in a small Victorian town and its gloomy surroundings. In October, which precedes a rare event – the Full Moon on Halloween – the cultists are preparing for a dangerous magical ritual – the Great Game. During the ritual, one team of players will try to open the Gate and summon back to the Land of the Great Ancients, while the task of the other is to stop it. At the beginning of the game, you choose one of the six playable characters to your liking: from the sinister puppeteer Madame Mandilip to the Mad Monk, and also choose a familiar: a cat, a snake, a dog or another animal. After that, you take on an exciting game task in the spirit of deductive games “Mafia” and “Werewolf” – to find out which of the cultists is your ally and who is your opponent. Despite the fact that all the game characters of October Night Games interact closely with each other, you do not know this. Meanwhile, the outcome of the Great Game, and therefore the fate of all mankind, depends on your decision. The procedurally generated narrative makes October Night Games an exciting and intense action full of unpredictable plot twists and intrigues. Perform realistic occult rituals, make bloody sacrifices, rob graves, perform alchemical experiments and talk to cats to enter the Great Game fully armed! Unique narrative arcs: Immerse yourself in an atmospheric procedurally generated narrative where random events take place in the spirit of the works of Roger Zelazny, H. F. Lovecraft, Bram Stoker, Robert Bloch and other horror classics, as well as real occult practices. Colorful game characters: You can play as a mad heretic, vampire, witch and more. Each character has unique abilities – for example, the ability to create astral projections or drink life force. Magical Pets: Take a familiar with your little talent as an assistant: a faithful dog, a gossip bat, an alchemist owl, and so on. Social deduction: Guess who is a friend and who is an enemy. Each team of cultists has three artifacts: a magic wand, a book and a lamp, which play different roles in the Great Game and help determine who is who. A variety of locations: Scour the city, cemetery or hollow to get the ingredients for alchemical experiments and occult rituals. Summon terrifying creatures from the Abyss: Ask for help from the slime-dripping Cthulhu, formlessly swirling in the center of Eternity Azathoth, or even from someone worse. Practice Magic: Experiment with alchemy and create elixirs using original transmutation mechanics inspired by chaos magic. Fight back: Fight back against the undead and disgruntled townspeople using a unique dice-based combat system. If you´re lucky, the enemy will become an obedient minion or a sacrifice on your altar. Survive: Take care of your health, sanity and reputation – otherwise the consequences will be terrible. Solo and multiplayer: Combine cooperation and rivalry – make gifts to those you consider friends and curse your supposed rivals. Atmospheric: Immerse yourself in the aesthetics of hand-tinted silent films and a soundtrack in the style of old horror films recorded using “live” vintage instruments: dulciton and celesta.
