ABOUT THIS GAME
"Verdun is the first multiplayer first-person shooter in a realistic World War I setting. A unique combat experience awaits you in the unrelenting trench warfare. Together with your squad, you will immerse yourself in brutal offensive and defensive operations.
The game takes place on the Western Front of one of the bloodiest conflicts in world history from 1914 to 1918. The game was inspired by the famous Battle of Verdun in 1916. The game features four game modes: Frontline, Attrition, Deathmatch, and Squad Defense. It also has a lot of historically accurate elements: realistic weapons of the First World War, authentic uniforms, nightmarish blood flows and maps based on real battlefields in France and Belgium.
Frontline mode is unique in its tactical complexity. It is not easy to fight in realistic trenches - their capture and defense require great tactical skill. The Entente and the Central Powers are striving to wrest control of each other´s sectors of the front. In one of the battles, you have to storm the enemy trenches in order to push the enemy back, in the other, you have to defend the newly captured foothold from a violent counterattack.
The player can choose to enter the battle as part of any of the many types of combat units with different tactical roles. In cooperation with friends, you earn experience that improves the fighting qualities and maneuverability of your squad. As you gain experience and advance in military rank, you also earn career points, which are used to unlock new specializations, weapons, and equipment.
In the "Fight of Attrition" mode, the troops of the Entente and the Central Powers converge with each other in a merciless battle. Each side has a certain number of points, showing the manpower available to it. When a player dies and respawns, their side loses one point. Once either side runs out of points, the players on that side can no longer respawn - and the last one standing wins.
Deathmatch is a free roam game where players will test their skills by relying only on bolt action rifles.
In Squad Defense mode, the player, along with up to three squadmates, must defend their position for as long as possible against endless waves of AI-controlled opponents.
